HANA SLM MONO MKII MOVING COIL CARTRIDGE
The Hana SLM MONO MkII moving coil cartridge uses a nude Shibata stylus profile and a composite, low resonance body. It is a low output design, designed to be used with amplifiers that have an MC (moving coil) input, and has been designed for the playback of mono LPs.
The new mono SLM MK II low output MC cartridge has upgrades to enhance both the musical performance, and also to offer greater value at the S Series price point. A new tapered Aluminum cantilever with increased rigidity offers a remarkable improvement in transferring groove modulation from the vinyl record to the cartridge generator. The S Series Mk II indeed features many higher specified parts, advanced materials, and unique technical processes, drawn from Hana’s higher-priced elite cartridge models.
Critical parts, including the Yoke, Pole-pieces, and gold Terminal pins are cryogenically treated for a more natural sound. An improved non-resonant body shape, modeled after the Hana M Series, is damped with a matte Soft Feel Black elastomeric resin paint, and features a brass top cap plus integral threaded mounting of cartridge. The heavier Mk II cartridge offers better coupling, improving bass and dynamics; and with expanded compatibility to a wider range of tonearms. The SLM MK II generator, follows the Umami Blue and M Series cartridge designs; incorporating an Alnico magnet and cross-coil design, using high purity 30-micron copper wire with a 23Ω impedance. These improved design features offer higher resolution and traceability, optimizing performance when used with MM phono stages.
